PRESS RELEASE
Environné is awarded "Certificate of Distinction" by
American Culinary Institute:
San Francisco, CA - March 1, 2003 - The American Culinary Institute, a division of the
Quality Institute International, is pleased to announce that Environné/Consumer Health
Research, Inc. has been presented with a Certificate of Distinction from a recent judging
of produce washes.
This product was recognized as "Superior" by a panel of acclaimed professional
chefs. It was judged against its nationally distributed competitors on a broad range of
criteria including design, function, form, performance and appearance. The product met the
stringent standards of distinction and shares this Certificate of Distinction with a
select few products in America.
The American Culinary Institute, a division of Quality Institute International, is an
organization that judges America's food related products with panels of acclaimed
professional chefs. Its goal is to empower the consumer to make the best buying decision
possible. The Quality Institute International's Gold Seal is seen on hundreds of products
in stores throughout America. Founded in 1985, the company has grown into a national
organization comprised of over 37,000 professional chefs and related professionals.
Throughout this network, they have established a National Board of Chefs who supports
their mission of honoring the "Best of the Best" products in the marketplace
through the recognition of product quality by independent critical judging. When the
consumer sees the Gold Medal on a product in the store, they know that it has been judged
one of the best performing products in America.
The Environné award winning product line continues the company's mission of protecting
consumers while providing effective cleaning solutions. The Fruit and Vegetable Wash isn't
just a staple in stores nationwide; it has inspired a new marketplace. Consumer awareness
of the dangers of chemical residue on produce is at an all-time high. Environné was the
first widely marketed product created proven to remove pesticides from all fruit and
vegetables. It has been tested by independent laboratories to remove up to 97% of
pesticides from produce.
As a Special Education teacher, Diane M. Mahoney, President, Consumer Health Research
Inc., uncovered research possibly linking pesticides on our produce to learning
disabilities, autism, ADD, etc. She immediately became an activist for greater pesticide
regulation. Diane also discovered that many agricultural pesticides will not be removed
from our produce with water alone. After Washington failed to crack down on the use of
pesticides, Diane purchased a produce wash proven to give consumers the means to protect
them.
Today, Environné Fruit and Vegetable Wash is distributed throughout many countries as
well as the United States in major health food chains such as Trader Joes and Wild Oats.
